Failure of Bush Part two.

Apparently Condi Rice thinks we will all be thanking this President for all the great stuff he has done. Like the 4000 plus dead in the useless and needless Iraq war, suspending habeus corpus, torture, and the Katrina disaster, and the failed economy, and the great big 'no strings' bailout, and the poor standing of the US in the world. I guess I could go on but what's the point. This is the latest story, and it is from someone who was probably the most incompetent National Security Director in our history. But that goes hand in hand with what is most assuredly the worst President too. For that matter she has not been the greatest Secretary of State either. There is so much that could be said about the incompetence of this administration. But I am curious why these folks feel the need to defend this dude now that his failure is coming to a close. If the President has done such a fantastic job why does he need defending or explaining or anything? Should it be self explanatory? I think so.

Mrs Bush Says husbands presidency not a failure....

And if you believe that I got a bridge to sell you chummy. This story is about an interview with the First Lady. In the interview she responds to those naysayers by stating how she doesn't need to respond to people who feel her husband is a failure. Say what? I guess George and Laura got together and compared noted cause she says that history will judge this Bozo too. Only she left out the Bozo part. Well I didn't watch the interview because it was on Fox and I don't watch Fox because Fox is the least credible of any newscast. Which says something about why Laura is hanging out on Fox eh? I think history will judge Bushie all right, it will judge him very very poorly.

Bush Administration accuses the NY times of 'Gross Negligence'.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Oh sorry I couldn't help myself. That title is just SO funny. Here is the story. Here is a quote, ""The Times' 'reporting' in this story amounted to finding selected quotes to support a story the reporters fully intended to write from the onset, while disregarding anything that didn't fit their point of view," White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said in an e-mailed statement" I wonder if she actually said that with a straight face. Of course she did! but she must have had to practice in the mirror for a while first. Substitute 'The Times' with the Bush Administration and 'a story' with the Iraq War and whattaya got? Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Sorry there I go again. Whew! Okay after you finish reading that story you will have read how the Bush Administration apparently pushed for additional regulation for the financial markets. Now realize this; The administration came to power in 2000 with what could be called at least questionable support. But Mr. Uniter not a Divider didn't seek this opportunity to mend fences, no sir! He took a majority of Republicans in both house and went to town creating what is undoubtedly the most ideological and divided U.S. policy in history. The Administration swaggered, name-called, bullied, spyed on, tortured and waged war upon anyone who they saw fit. Is it any surprise that when finally, in the winding down of his horrible Administration, that no one wants to play ball with him even when his legislation might make sense? If I was a Congressman I would have told the Shrub to get bent too. I certainly wouldn't wanted to have been seen as cooperating with him. We saw how that worked out for McCain, eh? So now the Times reports that the Emperor has no clothes and that the laissez faire policies of the last eight years have been largly responsible for the economic disaster of today. I think we can all say, yeah right, sorry George but methinks you protest too much.

Impeach, Remove and Arrest!

The Bush administration continues to lie about what it did in the run up to the Iraq war. Claiming that bad intelligence is at fault for their decision. This is false and they know it. They claim that our allies agreed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, this is also not true.
Now they are squawking about a editorial in the NY Times exposing these very untruths. Of course there are other little tidbits that point out the lies and manipulation of the Bush Administration. There is this from 2003. Then there is Ms. Rice lying about weapons inspectors. A further article from Salon.com regarding Bush untruths and the Iraq war. Of course yet another article about the lack of WMD's.
What is wrong with us?! Are we so tired of all this that we just want it to go away and never think of it again? Why won't 'We The People' demand that congress Impeach this President? His acts are criminal. And his lack of empathy and uncaring attitude is immoral. I can only hope that someone somewhere along the line might actually grow a backbone and pursue charges and indictments against this administration. Oh but the surge is working! We have 'success' in Iraq! Oh get real! the 'surge' took place in 2007, fully four years after the war started! After it had already lasted longer than our involvement in the second World War! How is that a success?
Of course the current economic crisis is going to take all the attention from any potential charges that could possibly happen. Maybe once Obama does something constructive to lift us from the disaster that Bush has put us in we might consider Justice for the creep who is responsible for over 4000 soldiers deaths and untold innocent Iraqi deaths.

Are these people serious!?

Lately certain people in the Bush administration have been talking about how it was 'unfortunate' they had bad intelligence regarding Iraq. Like Ms. Rice... And of course the Idiot in Chief Mr. Bush. He regrets his 'intelligence failures'. Damn I think the only intelligence failures these guys had was between their ears. I don't claim to be a genius but I could had told them they wouldn't find WMD in Iraq. We were bombing the snot out of Saddam for the last 10 years prior to our attack. If he could reconstitute a WMD program during that then he is a better leader than they gave him credit for. Maybe that's why they had him snuffed. Gah! Bush Administration can't be over soon enough.

Bush Defends Capitalism.

Here is an interesting article. You got to love the continued praise and defense of unregulated supply side free markets eh? This guy is definitely not in our reality. HELLLLOOOO! We just had a basic meltdown of our financial system mainly because it wasn't regulated enough to prevent greedy bastards from taking advantage and this dude is recommending that we continue to keep it unregulated??!! What is he thinking with? It is obvious that he is not concerned with the average joe. You know the one? The average joe that Gov Palin always was referring to? Yeah that one. Well it becomes more and more apparent as we move into the future and the more one thinks about it at all that Socialism is the way to go. Socialism can guarantee access to things like healthcare, social security and education. There has to be a way to have a good mix of the marketplace for dispersal of goods and services and socialism for the guarantee of access. This has been know as Market Socialism. This link too. Mr. Bush your version of proto-fascist capitalism is hopefully soon to be at an end. Though I don't think that Obama is a socialist by any means I am hoping that he sets the stage for the regulation that our system needs.

Palin wouldn't oppose seeking high office again

Yeah right. If she were to actually get elected we would deserve the crap we get. I cannot believe she actually thinks that this is a possibility. Here's an interesting link. I got to say there are some interesting quotes in this story and if they are true, I assume so, then she must think we are stupid. Or she is stupid. Both are probably true. For example, she emphatically denies she was a drag on the ticket. Well Sarah, it doesn't really matter what you think in that regard since everyone else thinks you were a drag on the ticket. Apparently most of the voting public did too. I don't know about anyone else, but talking very publicly about your relationship and conversations with God makes me uncomfortable, just sayin eh? How about this quote? "I did not order the clothes. Did not ask for the clothes," Palin said. "I would have been happy to have worn my own clothes from Day One. But that is kind of an odd issue, an odd campaign issue as things were wrapping up there as to who ordered what and who demanded what."" Not really Sarah, when the campaign you are part of sells itself as a frugal user of the taxpayers money it is a very real issue. That much money on clothing matters. Check this link. Then go to the slideshow on Palin's campaign fashion. So tell me Sarah, who chose a Louis Vuitton bag for your seven year old? Finally she may want to do a little historical research in regard to republican administrations. Republican administrations always rack up more debt that Democratic ones. Check out this link. Good quotes from that article, "

For example, over the last 42 years, Democrats have been more fiscally responsible than Republicans:

  • The biggest deficits occurred under Republican administrations; and
  • The budget has been balanced five times, and always under Democratic presidents.

Under President Bush's watch, the budget has seen a historically unprecedented deterioration:

  • There have been four straight years of a fiscal deterioration – the first times this has happened since WWII; and
  • This is the first time in U.S. history that deficits have continued to grow this far into an economic recovery."

Ah you got to love the ability of the New Republican Conservative to be completely out of touch with reality.

It's Obama Time. Thank God.

Well the election is over and Obama is the new President. I guess that people finally felt enough pain and embarrassment over Bush's regime that they elected an intelligent, thoughtful man who will probably go down in history as one of the best. Unlike the current idiot. Check this out! This is right in front of VCU in Richmond VA. The crowd basically shut down Broad st. Isn't that great! Here is another. Now pay special attention to the faces in both of these and remember you are watching RICHMOND, VIRGINIA the capital of the Confederate States of America. You will see Black, White, Asian, Indian and EVERYTHING. That is a wonderful diverse thing to watch. This is liberal at it's best.
And get this, executive orders to undo some of the horror that Bush has unleashed. I hope Obama does well. He has a good start.

What's Going On?

Right Winger George W. is practically nationalizing the banking system. And not in a good way mind you, more like Mussolini and the Italian Fascists, it's a form of national corporatism. Johnny McC is calling Obama a socialist, which is hard to fathom given the previous sentence. And those of us who are average joes stuck in the middle are getting the shaft. Whose the highlight of the media campaign news? Joe the plumber. WTF? When you listen to Joe he is just some whack job libertarian. Though I quite honestly think some libertarian beliefs are right on, I still think we need some form of government to guarantee and run things like healthcare and education as well as Fire, Police and Military. I think the biggest problem in this country is capitalism itself, left alone to it's devices capitalism will eat it's young, drive more people to poverty and cause fear, pain and misery. The invisible hand is cruel and heartless and we as intelligent human beings must ask ourselves is this really the best we can do? Is a system that is based in greed and selfishness really going to work out for us in the long run? There has to be something better and for humans to be able to engineer incredible solutions to other problems it seems that impossible to believe that we cannot solve this one. Unless, of course, some very rich people and corporations are somehow preventing it. But that wouldn't be happening, right? heh.

study links oil prices to speculation.

It's been almost 30 days since last writing anything, but I had to comment on this. You mean the recent increase in oil prices was mainly due to investor speculation! The only comment I have is you don't fucking say! So let's hope our congress and administration DO SOMETHING!

Bush says Russia "invaded" Georgia

If you ask me it is pretty ballsy for a guy who "invaded" Iraq and still advocates the occupancy of that nation to accuse Russia of invading its former province. But then what he lacks in brains he makes up for in balls. He would probably view that as a compliment. But I certainly don't mean it that way. The man is the worst president in the history of the USA. I have never actively disliked a politician so much as I do George W. Bush. He needs impeachin. But I am repeating myself. Which would be why I don't publish as much as I use to. Every time I sit down to write I just get so pissed. I would like to write some things about how socialist ideals might actually solve some of our problems. But the headlines and W just make me froth at the mouth. Maybe, if Obama is elected, and God I hope so, I will calm down enough to write some other things that are more productive than just venting.

He Shot it up because of their 'Liberal' Views, Go figure.

And people wonder why we liberals consider todays 'conservatives' with such disdain. Check out the church shooting in Tennesee. Of course most of us Liberals realise that a conversative in the William F. Buckley vein would never do or condone something like this act. But today's conservatives are not like Mr. Buckley, they are like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter or O'Reilly. People who are polemicists and simply advocate violence rhetorically or otherwise. When is the last time you heard of a liberal shooting up a church or something? Simply Unbelievable. And as an aside I don't care how well it's going in Iraq, George W. Bush is an Idiot and we shouldn't have been there in the first place.

James Dobson is an Idiot

How about this one folks? James Dobson, the christo-fascist, has a strange interpretation of the constitution. Here is a quote from Obama, "Even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools? Would we go with James Dobson's or Al Sharpton's?" Now the way I understand this is that we cannot be forcing any ones religious beliefs on anyone else because we all have a constitutional right to believe and worship as we feel we should. But people like Jimmy D don't understand that basic idea behind 'freedom' or 'liberty', Dobson has accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus' teachings in the New Testament. Now correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Jesus Jewish? Wouldn't those codes apply? In fact as I recall the dietary codes are not really referred to until the later books of the new testament. You see Dobby you can't have it both ways either the Bible is the literal word of God or it isn't. You can't pick and choose some parts over others can you? Is God that fickle? How about this quote, "Am I required in a democracy to conform my efforts in the political arena to his bloody notion of what is right with regard to the lives of tiny babies? What he's trying to say here is unless everybody agrees, we have no right to fight for what we believe." Um, no, that wasn't what he was saying at all. And it appears you have no understanding of our republican form of democracy. Though I will agree it hasn't been very democratic lately. You're not required to conform your political efforts, but you are required to leave people alone if they are behaving in accordance with the law. Bonehead. And by the way the 14th amendment to the constitution guarantees constitutional protection to all people born or naturalized in the United States. Last time I took biology a fetus wasn't born yet and I daresay it can't be naturalized as a citizen. So technically it, a fetus, has no protection under the constitution. Now do I think we should prevent abortions, sure I do. But not by making it illegal. And I give that example to show just how some conservative right wing-nuts misunderstand both the Bible and the Constitution. I guess old Jimmy D was sleeping in civics class eh? Dummy.

oh. my. god. the man is an unbelievable idiot.

The stupidity of the man known as George W. Bush is at levels that are simply impossible to fathom. In this link George compares today's wars of choice, most specifically Iraq, to WWII. The errors of comparison here are so grave that they have to be pointed out. This simply comparison made by the 'leader' of the most powerful nation on earth shows why stupid should not be left at the controls. on the statistically impossible chance that someone might actually read this let's try to enlighten him shall we? First WWII was fought against the Axis powers. These people had entire countries, organized military forces and had actually mobilized and conquered several other countries. Second when the Axis was defeated these governments actually surrendered unconditionally. Once rebuilding of their countries infrastructure began they weren't still fighting us. We weren't rebuilding Germany amidst insurgency, were we? The most important thing to realize is that even though there may be some remote similarities to today's 'terrorists' the differences are vast. You see the paradigm has changed. Today's information network and technology has made it possible for an angry empowered individual or small number of individuals to wreak death and destruction that during the era of WWII required an entire country and military. Think! There were 19 hijackers on sept 11. If we are to use George's WWII logic then by the fact that there were 15 of them from Saudi Arabia shouldn't we have attacked the Saudis? There is something else at play here and Mr. Bush isn't talking about it. To attack countries in this supposed 'war on terror' (how do you declare war on a tactic?) is exactly the wrong thing to do. It provides an Empire against which rebels can organize and wage attacks. We need to form alliances with moderate muslim countries. We need to cooperate with their security forces to bring these crazy people to justice. Punishing entire civilian populations only creates more crazy terrorists. George W. Bush doesn't get it. He never has and he never will. Idiot.

Memorial Day for George W.

Just because today is memorial day and I don't want people to forget that the Iraq War was a war of choice. A choice made by a president who gets to ride his bike every day, watch his daughter get married, go home and bang his wife and posture about like he actually made a decision that history will find to be a good one. Over 4000 of our soldiers dead and untold civilians. Thanks W.

Here is an unbelievable video from Irish TV. George Bush shows himself to be an incredibly insensitive asshole. What an embarrassment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vefD3WSiis

Thanks G, you're an asshole and a murderer. You claim that Jesus teaches you peace yet you wage war. If hell doesn't exist it will be created just for you.

More on Imbecilic statements. This just in! Apparently GWB thinks that talking to those countries like Iran and Cuba and Syria in search of a solution to problems of terrorism and the problem of Israel vs Palestine is appeasement. Really? He and his ilk are constantly drawing the analogy of appeasing the nazis and how well that worked. Of course making that comparision and drawing the same conclusions from it show a serious misunderstanding of the world. At least the rest of the 'normal' world that isn't as fantastically wealthy and completely out of touch with reality. Do certain Muslims and terrorists want to create some sort of islamic world state? Sure, no one can argue that that is not true. But there are Christians that want to do the same thing. Do you draw the same conclusions from them?
Not only that but Shia and Sunni continue to murder one another and cannot agree, muslims in palestine are constantly battling and killing one another. They only agree that they hate Israel more than each other. This isn't 1939. And these organizations aren't Germany, nor are they very organized. But by conducting his foreign policies the way he has for the last 7 1/2 years it is only driving the moderate muslims to agree with the crazy idiot terrorist muslims. The real issue is getting the Arab countries to accept Israel and leave it alone. The Israelis Palestine issue is the real problem and what has been done about that? Very little. Bush et al, are naive and incompetent hopefully we can recover from their unbeleivable stupidity. Hey here is a suggestion. Here is another little interesting blurb on 9/11 and terrorism. Terrorists living in the US, US organizations raising money for Hamas and Al Qaeda and this has been occurring since Ronnie Reagan til Bushie jr. Unbelievable. Bush is a war criminal. He and his Administration should be locked up. Damn

War has never solved anything......

I have seen this on bumper stickers and t-shirts and it basically goes like this; "War has never solved anything except for creating the United States and for ending slavery Genocide Fascism Nazism and a few other 'unplesant' institutions and regimes." That link is to Sharon Hughes blog and quite frankly I didn't know who she was. But now that I have done a little browsing I found that she has to be a moron. But I digress. Back to war eh? Of course, whether war has any useful purposes is a topic for another more intelligent discussion. But this statement is just imbecilic. Hello? Read the news. Did war create the U.S.? Technically no but the Revolution kept it and some would argue whether that is a good thing, so that is debatable. But , slavery? This just in.... Oh and this..... Dang, I guess war didn't really solve that slavery probem did it? Genocide? Can you say Rwanda? Darfur? Genocide is alive and well. Fascism? Hmm. Well barring that GWB's administration could probably be considered fascist, what's around for fascism? Well there is the American Nazi Party. Christian Identity. How about the Ku Klux Klan? Oh well, I guess there aren't any fully fledged fascist states are there? How about Nazism? Wait, didn't we just talk about that? Sheesh. And how about that mispelling of unpleasant? Ah yes those right wing conservative nut jobs are just so well read and educated aren't they? Which regimes where unpleasant? China's? Saudi Arabia? (remember 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi) It would be easier to take some conservative positions seriously if stupid slogans like this weren't batted around.

Rice: US warned Carter not to talk to Hamas

Been a while since I posted anything. I have been trying to mellow out a bit and not follow some headlines too closely. Especially since those things tend to piss me off. I couldn't resist this one.
Let's see, Jimmy Carter the President who orchestrated the Israeli Egyptian peace accord and Elder Statesman known for his honesty; or Bush Administration, engineers of the Iraq war, asleep at the wheel during 9/11 and Katrina, known worldwide for being arrogant liars. Who should be believed? I think Carter has proven that in order to establish a lasting peace in the middle east ALL parties need to come to the table. This means that we need to; *gasp* talk to the Syrians, and the Iranians, and Hamas and whoever else has a concern. Instead of branding anyone that doesn't agree a terrorist and unloading the war machine on em. Sounds a lot like Obama's proposed policies huh? The question is will he be elected in an honest election. Or has the Emperor already fixed it up? Alas, we are Rome and the barbarians are at the gate.

Weighing costs in choosing cancer care

What? Should this even be a consideration? Only in this country would we make life saving or life ending decisions based on the amount of money that it will cost. Don't get me wrong, with things the way they are now you have to make those kind of decisions or you could bankrupt your family. But my point is you shouldn't have to. Like fire and rescue, police protection and even the military our health systems should be socialized. It sucks otherwise, simply put, this system is set up to help a small number of people and corporations to get really rich. This is not a socially justifiable system. It is not democratic. It is autocratic and our society continues to become autocratic. We need to stop it, when will we do so?

Studies: Iraq costs US $12B per month

Here's a good Idea. Let's stop spending billions of dollars in Iraq and invest it in our OWN COUNTRY. A recent study shows that the U.S. is spending 12B a MONTH on George's War. The damage this does to our economy is unbelievable. This war in Iraq, the one GWB lied us into, is going to cost us more than the Vietnam War which lasted 12 years. Let's not even mention the human cost, or the cost of our standing in the world community, and yes that does mean something because people who hate us tend to do really bad things to us. But just imagine what it might do for our economy and our country to stop spending money on the military industrial complex, which doesn't make any contributions to our infrastructure, and spent it instead on jobs programs. You know, projects to rebuild our roads, put back commuter rails and continental rail systems, (re)build bridges and create renewable power sources. This would create jobs, teach real job skills to people who need it and rebuild our infrastructure. Folks, the New Deal worked. Ronnie Reagan and the idiots who have followed him have bought into the conservative tripe that government can't do things well. That's just not true. It is true that government should leave us alone for a lot of stuff but if government can send money to Iraq, and banks, and corporations selling god knows what, why can't government do other things. Like jobs programs? National Healthcare? Projects to rebuild our own national infrastructure? Cynthia Tucker is right on in this opinion piece. I just wish more people felt the same way.

Bush to VETO bill banning waterboarding.

It's too bad to keep harping on one person's behaviour, but the president is such an easy target. He keeps doing stupid things that most normal Americans would completely disagree with. For instance the most recent and stupid is his statement that he will veto the bill banning waterboarding. According to Mr. Bush this bill will eliminate a valuable tool. Uh, What? The bill would limit interrogation methods to those listed in the Army field manual. I can't see the problem with that. Our president would rather we torture our prisoners. How can you justify that? Any justification is going to be an ends justify the means type of argument. Once you agree that that is okay, then you have entered the slippery slope where almost anything is okay if the ends are what you think they should be. This is the justification for eugenics! Torture of any kind by our government and it's operatives is not justifiable. We are supposed to be the good guys and this is among the worst thing this president could do. What a schmuck.

I have never so actively disliked a political individual in my life. He needs to be removed from office. It will take decades to recover from the damage that he and his administration have done. He is a total failure. Try typing that into a google search. Once we get the democrats back in office and in control of all the branches of government maybe we can have some that are progressive enough to repair all the damage done since Reagan and 1980. Put back the safety nets, repeal the patriot act and the tax cuts for the rich. Gawd who knows.

But the administration has said it is okay to torture. They have said it is okay to disappear someone, just ask Jose Padilla. They have said it is okay to listen to your conversations. They are willing to exchange YOUR liberties for a perceived safety. This safety is not real. We deserve our liberties and we will never be totally safe. But this administration will scare the bejeesus out of you so they can take your liberties and pretend to give you safety by allowing tortures. This is wrong. Torture is never okay. And this president calls himself a Christian. He should be ashamed.

3/11/08 addendum. A sad day. The house failed to override the Bush veto. Amazingly to me 188 representatives feel that torture is apparently okay. People are stupid.

Condi tries to save the administration's ass.

Ah, just a case of too little too late. Condi Rice is trying hard to save her boyfriend's butt and his legacy by actually attempting to accomplish something good in the Israeli - Palestinian conflict. Of course our current pres apparently thought he could approach this issue with all the knowledge he got while dozing off in sunday school. Perhaps if, seven years ago, we actually pursued a peace process instead of rattling sabers, attacking countries that were no threat to us and acting in such a way as to convince the rest of the world that we are, indeed, an imperialist threat, something may be accomplished. But for now this is way too little way too late. For now me and the rest of the world are simply waiting for the next administration to put sanity back into the white house. Hoping that the Idiot in Chief doesn't cause us to self destruct in the meantime.

George Bush, "We are not headed into Recession."

More idiot tripe from the President, aren't you glad we aren't Headed in to Recession? I mean seriously, get this, "On one issue particularly worrisome to American consumers, there are indications that paying $4 for a gallon of gasoline is not out of the question once the summer driving season arrives. Asked about that, Bush said "That's interesting. I hadn't heard that. ... I know it's high now." " The man didn't hear about it?! Is he that insulated? Is he incapable of thinking outside of anything other than what he thinks he believes? My God, do we need a Barack Obama. We are so overdue for an intelligent human being in the president's office that it is unbelievable. The only way I can believe that this guy got elected is because the elections were fixed. I cannot bring myself to believe that over 50 million people were that stupid.
Hacked Election.
Stolen Election.
Election Fraud.
I think we should worry people, a lot.

Is the 2008 election already fixed?

George Bush gave a speech before the Republican Governors Association and in it he predicts that the GOP will keep the white house. After the 2000 election and then the 2004 election theft it becomes apparent that republican operatives are getting good at election subterfuge. Dubya also predicted that the GOP would retake the house and senate. I hope he is as intelligent with his predictions as he is with his leadership skills. The guy is an idiot.

An Idiot.
An Idiot.
An Idiot.
An Asshole.

Obama's Patriotism

You know what bugs the hell out of me? Conservative media tripe. First of all the media is corporate and conservative, so don't go trying to tell me or anyone that it is liberal. You would have to be totally brainless to believe that it is liberal. Now that it looks like Obama is on a roll and could get the Democratic nomination and likely the White House, Fox 'news' and idiots like Limbaugh and Hannity et al, would question his patriotism! This is the mark of fascism folks. Believe you me. Remember the 14 points of fascism? Criminy they are even after the guy's wife Michelle. Here is what she said the other day, "Michelle Obama told an audience in Milwaukee, "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country. Not just because Barack is doing well, but I think people are hungry for change."" Did you read that closely? She is not being unpatriotic or claiming that her country sucks or whatever. She said that people are showing that they are ready for change and that makes her proud. Because up until this point it looked like the country was headed straight down the shit-hole of fascism. And the the media fascists would have you believe that dissent of any kind is unpatriotic. I will tell you what is unpatriotic, telling others that they have to behave in specific ways or that they HAVE to place their hand over their heart. Or they can't disagree with things that are obviously stupid, like the war in Iraq. The U.S. has been going steadily downhill for the last seven years, heck really since 1980. I am glad that things are changing and I am ready for Obama. I just hope enough people think critically enough to look past the republican and media idiots.

Obama is the man!!

Ex-President Bush says attacks on McCain "unfair"

I just had to have a brief comment on this. It is so unfair, says George Sr., that you guys are all pickin' on Johnny McCain. Hey, so when Georgie jr. was spreading lies and tripe about McCain during the 2000 campaign that was okay huh? These people are unbelievable. Their situational ethics make them the most dangerous politicians of any. Vote Obama. Time for change.

I'm Taking a Break.

Heck, no one is reading my stuff. I am feeling a little angry and frustrated with everything. It is no longer a catharsis to bang out a paragraph or two on a subject. I want Obama to get the nomination. I want people to know that goddamn corn is NOT the ONLY thing you can make ethanol from. Jesus people, potatoes, beets, sugar cane, then there is cellulosic ethanol....so get with it. Until we get to the hydrogen economy ethanol is going to be the stop gap.

The freekin president is a moron and an arrogant jerk. He is a crook that has broken the law and should be impeached, as should Cheney, Rice, Mukasey and all the rest of them. The biggest reason congress' polls are lower than Bush's is because they won't conduct any real oversight. Impeach the bastards!

Ah, but as I said this isn't really doing anything for me. If anyone should happen upon my words of wisdom and think they would like me to write more than please comment. Otherwise I am going on a hiatus. Bye.

Who's readin my Shit! Anyone?

Anyone out there actually reading this stuff? Leave me a comment and let me know please. Click on an AD. Tell me I stink. Any response at this point is welcome, just so I know I am not shouting into the wilderness.
Hey. To The Masquerade website is up and functional. Looks really good. Check it out.
If George Bush is stumping for McCain it is all the more reason NOT to vote for him. Cause we all know how BRILLIANT Mr. "My Pet Goat" is eh? Rep. Tom Lantos has passed away, which is a major bummer. He was 80 years old but dang, it seems like all the good ones die. How about that Obamarama!! Hoo boy, he swept the weekend caucuses (caucii?) and boy does he look really good. I absolutely want him for the Democratic candidate. An Obama/Edwards ticket would be wicked sweet.
Anyone catch the Grammys? I tried for a while but when Tina Turner came out, yeesh. I won't say anything. But I went to bed shortly afterward. That awards show just doesn't have it anymore. Heck there are too damn many of them now anyway.
The price of gas is dropping which is nice...anyone think it will continue for a bit more? Yeah me neither. Frustrations galore. Nuff said.

The Angry Liberal

I am an Angry Liberal. I say that unapologetically. I wasn’t always this way; in fact I used to be practically cheerful once. Over time I have gotten frustrated and upset. Yes, downright angry.

Let me say why. First, let me get this out because it bothers me. Ronald Reagan is not a saint. In fact, he wasn't even a good president. He was responsible for the largest structural deficit at the time. He did not, repeat did not, bring down the Soviet Union. That was simply economics and internal politics. To hear some Reagan acolytes you would think the guy marched out on a white horse and slew the Red bear himself; sheesh! He is responsible for a lot of human suffering and misery and set the stage for the current bozo. It rankles me they renamed National after him. If I was an air traffic controller at National I would be ticked every day I went to work. Remember he fired them all? Wasn't that illegal?. Can government bust unions?

George W. Bush did not win in 2000. Yes I know we liberals are supposed to get over this but the fact remains. The Supreme Court selected him. Regardless of how you counted Florida votes and for whom they went, the margin was within the statistical margin of error. That means a statistical dead heat. A tie! The electoral votes should have been split. The Court should have split them. But of course this would have given Gore the Presidency. Couldn’t have that, huh?

I am angry because in November 2004, the election was again stolen. This time in a far more sophisticated manner, and with the complicity of the media. Computer voting machines were hacked. Exit polling showed Kerry ahead by a wide margin yet voting machines showed a Bush win, with no paper trail. Google 'voting machines hacked in 2004' just for kicks. You will see what I mean. Did you ever see this in your 'News'?

No matter how often I see Bush in the media I see a spoiled rich kid who never had to work a day in his life. He never had to choose between groceries or medicine, never had to endure calls from the bank or creditors, never had to decide what to cut off the kids Christmas list because he had to pay the electric bill. He doesn’t live in the world of the average American. Sorry folks, not my president and he wasn’t elected on Sept 11 either.

I am angry because we were lied into a war we had no business getting into. There were no WMD. We didn't find them. Saddam had no ties to Al Qaeda and he wasn’t responsible for September 11. Is this administration as incompetent as they seem? Can you say Katrina? It appears that we are no safer from terrorists (rather vague word that) than we were. There is no justification after expending soldiers over there.

I am angry the economy has been largely ignored or apparently misunderstood by this administration. Supply side economics simply don't work. What was done to our infrastructure to really create employment? Aside from spending in the military industrial complex, I see nothing. Perhaps economics is understood by this administration and manipulated for the benefit of Rich Allies.

It’s tough being a liberal. There is much to be frustrated with; the so-called liberal media, (actually neither liberal nor conservative just corporate) welfare myths, the surrender of civil liberties to shadowy terrorists, ad infinitum. We liberals are evidently dangerous. Apparently we're treasonous and slanderous; liberals are responsible the country’s woes. Frankly I don’t see a dime’s worth of difference between democrats or republicans. We liberals aren’t in charge and probably never were. We are just dissenters. It seems dissenting is not considered patriotic anymore. Yes, I am a liberal. An angry frustrated one, but a liberal nonetheless.

Waterboarding is not torture. Huh?

It should come as no surprise that the White House is defending the use of waterboarding during the interrogation of terrorist suspects. This is George Bush after all. It appears to me that George is a sociopath. His relationships appear to be stunted and lacking in compassion. The qualities of a psychopath seem to fit him. How could one appear okay with waterboarding? Or any form of torture? Isn't this guy supposed to be a christian? How does he justify his 'christianity' with waging war and torture? One can only assume that Bush's form of Christianity is a blood lusting cult like type. It is certainly not the one that Jesus spelled out very clearly in his Sermon on the Mount. Bush appears to be a Christian Fascist. The lack of empathy and arrogance don't jibe with the teachings of Christ. The defense of waterboarding is indefensible.

The Lies of George W. Bush

It has been a little while, and for all of my many readers, (all 0 of you!) I apologize. But life intrudes and I have little desire sometime to sit and vent. This time I absolutely feel the need to vent. I think George W. Bush is the worst president in U.S. History. The unbelievable incompetence and evil with which this administration has comported itself is without compare. To claim faulty intelligence leading into the war is simply untrue. The CIA knew and they told him. He just didn't want to believe it. He had decided to take this nation to war and he was going to do it. Now when chickens are attempting to come home to roost there is covering up and executive privilege taken to hide things. I quote, "A Senate committee chairman accused the Bush administration on Monday of undercutting open government with a budget proposal that would have the Justice Department oversee a new office devoted to promoting greater freedom of information." Is that Orwellian or what? The justice department oversee a freedom of information department?! Doesn't the propaganda start to wear you down? The claims to Christianity, the claims to be 'proven' by history. It all just makes me sick and angry. The lies are incredible. What else can we do but pray... Please God there is a guy down here that claims to be a follower of yours and man is he a bad dude. He is solely responsible for close to 4000 American military deaths and 10's of thousands of Iraqi deaths. He was too chicken ass to go to vietnam so he avoided it by pulling strings and getting into the national guard. Now he is sending the national guard to the front lines in Iraq. How nasty and hypocritical is that? Could you help us impeach his ass or do something to prove him out to everyone down here who (could possibly) still thinks he is a decent president. We are suffering from his arrogant rule. Help us. Amen.

Bush 2009 budget....Jesus man.

Recent headlines say that the Bush 2009 budget (2009?) is going to call for some really tight budget cuts in Healthcare programs and social services. All I can say is WTF! Of course we have no problems sending billions of dollars to Iraq and other military junkets. But this Compassionate Conservative has no issue cutting the legs out from under those who would need it most. This is worse than Ronald Reagan! At least Ronnie pretended to be trying to make government smaller. Of course he too cut programs that were benefiting the average joe. Here it is folks let me lay it out. What has happened is the people who were opposed to FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society programs could not argue that they didn't work. Because they did. And arguing to eliminate things like Social Security and Medicare was political suicide, since hey they worked, kept people out of poverty and we all like that! Now realize that this administration actually proposed privatizing Social Security. That should really give us all chills. Then they went and established a huge costly benefit in the form of Medicare D, the drug program. Which really helps the big pharmaceuticals more than anything but that's neither here nor there. Why add a big cost to a program that is already costly? Because the 'conservatives' that oppose the FDR and LBJ programs WANT to bankrupt them. Here is the way it works. First you scare the bejesus out of everyone with all the terrorist talk. So then you have to bulk up the military budgets and can never cut them back because we have to win the 'war on terra'! Now you cry that the sky is falling and we can't afford to continue to provide social security and medicare because it is just too expensive. Of course hiding other facts at the same time. Remember this link? So everyone is convinced that we need to cut, eliminate or privatize these programs thus removing the government promise of these programs completely. This people is fascism. Don't forget the definition thereof. We are being duped folks. Our countries leaders and our press and media is screwing us over.

Bush to Target Earmarks in State of Union?

Let me preface what I am going to say. I don't like George W. Bush. I have never met him nor do I want to. I don't know him personally and I don't wish to. I have read that he is really a nice guy, personable, etc. But then again I have heard a lot of other dictators and terrorists are too. George Bush's actions speak louder than anything else. We have almost 4000 deaths in Iraq and for what purpose? The manipulation of the 9/11 tragedy for political haymaking is practically criminal in itself. The tragedy of the Katrina hurricane and New Orleans is unbelievable in the lack of empathy and concern coming from the white house. Check out this story in USA today from the year anniversary. So now in this, what is thankfully, his final year in office. George Bush has decided to do some things which should have been being done from the beginning. Mr 'Uniter not a Divider', deciding to more aggressively pursue the peace process. And now Mr. 'My Pet Goat' will attack Earmarks in his State of the Union Speech. Of course earmarking was never a big issue when the republicans were in charge of congress. Why not do something about it then when the repugs had both houses and the white house? Because our government is essentially an Oligarchy with no real concern for the average american . How else to explain 40+ million uninsured? A war with no end and nothing truly gained? The incredible tax cuts given to the fabulously wealthy.? Thanks George, you're an asshole, no question.

We Were Lied into the Iraq war. Can you believe it?!

A recent study by two non-profit organizations show that President Bush and his administration lied as part of an orchestrated campaign to lead the nation to war under false pretenses. No REALLY! I could have told you that in 2003 when we were being lied to then. Did anyone with a brain really think that after bombing the snot out of Saddam for the last 10 years prior to our attack, that he would be able to reconstitute a weapons program? If he did then we should have had him run THIS country since apparently he was better at his organizational skills than our current leader. (That's a joke people) Isn't "an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses." an impeachable offense? We have over 3000 dead soldiers now who went to Iraq on these false pretenses. Since Madame Pelosi has taken impeachment off the table for now, I believe that the least we can do is get as many republicans out of congress and the whitehouse as possible. Since there are really no viable third parties or third candidates the Democrats are our only other alternative. A sad one I will admit but we must make do with what we have.

It's the Economy Stupid

Back in 1980, when Ronnie Reagan was elected. We were at a unusual economic crossroad. It was apparent that whatever congress and President Carter were doing to ameliorate the economy just wasn't working. So along comes the Pres and his big tax change. Of course what most folks don't know is that he was supposed to also cut massive parts of federal budget too. And he and congress did cut parts of the budget but they were mostly those parts that helped people achieve job training, and keep jobs in the U.S. yadda yadda yadda. He didn't cut the defense budget at all in fact it was dramatically increased. And most Americans approved of this, but the increase in the deficit was huge. So if anyone starts touting the Reagan economic turnaround keep in mind it was probably the massive injection of federal funds into the military industrial complex. That is not necessarily bad, I mean those arm manufacturers and shipbuilders and tank builders need to employ people, right? Those people can use the jobs here in the states. The bad part of investing such huge amounts into the Military Industrial Complex (check out section IV in that link) is that these investments are not contributing to our infrastructure in such a way as to promote continued job creation. The only way the M.I.C. can continue it's economic growth is to ensure that war becomes a growth industry. How many billions do we send to Iraq? And now our current Dummy in Chief is rattling sabers with Iran? Something seems a bit suspicious to me. So as Georgie Bush's investments into our war industry seem to be failing, he never was very good at running a business, He and congress propose a very Keynesian economic solution to jump start things. That is, putting cash into the hands of consumers. Of course tax breaks are coming, for these clowns tax breaks are the solution to everything. Well, Apparently not everything. But like Georgie's attempt at middle east peace this is all too little too late. Damn, I do wish we would impeach this guy.

Bush extends the executive office, again.....

In yet one more example of the president's office disregarding law and our own constitution, George W. Bush signed an executive exemption to the 12 mile no-sonar law. Now I happen to feel that it is a good thing to not kill or maim hundreds or thousands of marine mammals. But regardless of that fact is the total disregard that this administration has for the laws passed by our congress. Jesus people let's impeach them!
As much as I would vote for anyone running on the Democratic ticket against the Repubs I would really not want to have Hillary as the candidate. She is just carrying too much baggage. Obama is the man who really appears to be a leader. Please please Democratic Party don't choose Hillary! Does anyone in the dem hierarchy realize how much a very determined segment of our population hates her? Hillary Haters are united. We would be setting up the Democratic party for a loss, no question.
I guess Afghanistan is headed for crisis too. Who would have thought? I mean haven't we concentrated a ton of effort and troops there? Oh wait I'm thinking of Iraq! Apparently we really needed to apply more effort to establishing order and 'democracy' in Afghanistan. Who woulda guessed?
Hey, go figure, now Mr. Bush says the economy needs stimulatin'. Why just a few weeks ago wasn't he saying that the economy was in good shape? Boy things sure can turn around fast eh? Maybe it's just that the guy is a total moron. Look at all the good that his pressure on Iran has done. I am thinking that the next step is martial law. This video is spot on if you ask me. But I am frustrated and angry about all this. I will say just about anything. Damn.

Why are Gas Prices so High? Part two .... et al.

Okay so I have been thinking some more on this gas prices thing. It seems to me to be very obvious that we need to get away from oil, both foreign and otherwise. But there is no real progress being made. See my previous post on the electric car. I think this needs to be a three prong approach. First we need to conserve as much as we can. Higher MPG, renewable power sources etc. Second we need to develop alternate fuels for our vehicles, like ethanol. Third we need to set a goal, similar to our space race in the sixties, to get into a hydrogen economy. Until we can get there we need to make more gasoline and oil available, while at the same time reducing demand. For now though we have people like you and me feeling pain at the gasoline pump and in our homes when we fill our heating oil tank. So I find it frustrating when Our Fearless Leader, (you knew I would get to him didn't you?) actually asks OPEC to increase their production to help lower the price of oil. While that in itself isn't actually a bad thing, it's something he should have been doing all along. We won't bring up all that cheap oil we are supposed to be getting from Iraq. We were supposed to get oil from Iraq right? But he also has it in his power to release oil from the strategic oil reserve and that would have a much quicker and more immediate effect on oil prices I think. So realizing that almost half of the price of a barrel of oil is speculative then steps to help investors speculate on a lower price would be a good idea, huh?
On other topics; apparently the Bush administration isn't happy with just one Guantanamo for torturing our 'enemies' they need to have one in Afghanistan too. Why aren't people outraged yet?
On Health care it is funny to note that one of the popular stories making the rounds was conservative pundit Glenn Beck's visit to the hospital. Apparently this is not an unusual event as emergency rooms are getting worse. I will write in more detail on another post. But let's just say I think Mr. Beck's conclusion was way off.
In order to end on a more humorous note, I thought I might mention those folks in Texas that apparently have witnessed a UFO. They witnessed a flying object one mile long and 1/2 mile wide. That is one big ship. A lot of folks saw it I guess, many of them very reputable people. Of course realize this, UFO seen in Texas, President Bush 'from' Texas....Coincidence?

Bush urges allied action against Iraq... I mean Iran,

Oh my freakin god can we say deja vu all over again? George Bush is urging action by the allies against Iran? Wait, doesn't this all sound familiar? Didn't mister Asshole urge the same kind of crap against Iraq? And we all know how that turned out huh? Remember? We found that huge stash of Saddam's Weapons of Mass destruction. All the biological weapons labs were discovered and destroyed. Whew that was a close one fer sure. Now of course our Idiot in Chief is asking us to go along with more 'action' against another nation, that hasn't attacked us, that isn't close to nuclear capability, and naturally we have to do something about it immediately! Of course we all know that Georgie is incapable of lying. The real question is are we all going to fall for this again? Gawd if anyone needs impeaching it is Bush and Cheney. Can somebody please please please impeach these guys?!

George Bush is an A$$hole

You know I just cant' say it enough. George W. Bush is an asshole. The guy has serious issues. Not only that but the incompetence of his administration is incredible. I guess he has decided about seven years too late to actually take an active role in Israeli-Palestinian peace. Of course all that is off set by his attack on Iraq. You remember that? The one we were lied into? And of course he further states that Iran is a threat to world peace. Huh? Wait a minute, I mean I think that Menadenajihad (whatever) guy is a jerk and all but has he actually attacked any countries in the the last 4 or 5 years? Who is really the threat to world peace Georgie? You are. Was all that really lost on him? This guy has to be one of the most intellectually challenged people I have ever had to witness in my life. This guy is not a christian. He is a despot of a uniquely american kind. Let me tell you, this is the scenario I fervently pray for. (aside from George just dropping dead) November elections come and the Democrats win big. a large majority in the house and a greater majority in the senate. Since the congress is seated on Jan 6 before the new president is inaugurated, as part of their first day of business a congressman submits articles of impeachment, maybe even for Cheney too. The house passes them and then the senate votes to remove the bastards from office. The speaker of the house is president for what would be a historically short term and the new president is sworn in on the 20th. Wouldn't that be sweet? Will it happen? I am cynical.
P.S. I saw this while browsing a little later. The man has no scruples, empathy or conscience. No matter how they try to spin it, he is truly without a soul. Tears in his eyes, right.

Who Killed Electric Cars? Or how we could have reduced depencency on foreign oil in the seventies....

Ain't that Hybrid Prius a wicked cool thang? I mean the idea of marrying a gas engine to an electric engine, thereby giving tremendous gas mileage, golly. Who would have thought of that? Actually a few people I guess. Here is an article from Mother Earth News published in 1979. A converted Opel GT was able to get 75 mpg. Simply put, the guy merged some lead-acid batteries, a lawnmower engine and an electric motor from a jet engine, all using technology available since the 1940's and voila. And before that? The Electric Hybrid Buick Skylark built in 1974 by Victor Wouk. Get this, in the 70's, you may recall, there was a gas crisis of sorts and everyone got all hot about saving gas and energy in general. The Feds came up with a research program that was supposed to help jumpstart companies making alternative fuel vehicles. It was called the Federal Clean Car Incentive program. This was before assholes like Ronald Reagan eviscerated federal programs that actually worked. Wouk developed the Hybrid. Their plan got 30k from the FCCIP to build their car. For some reason I don't understand the EPA had a thumbs up or down on the project. I suppose in order to go to the next stage of support and help via the FCCIP. Anyway, the guy running things, a man named Erik Stork, decided he didn't like hybrids and that the Wouk Hybrid would not get approval under any circumstances. Ain't that great? One guy ruined it all. Fully 30 years (give or take) before the Toyota Prius we could have had a Hybrid on the road here in the U.S. using our cars, our technology and our manufacturing. Yeah private enterprise and the market is a wonderful thing isn't it? So the next time you are wondering why the hell we didn't think of these things, we did! A guy named Erik Stork shot it down. I am guessing he was a solid republican.

Iowa Caucus and others....

Holy election year Batman! The Iowa caucus turned out to be quite a horse race eh? I think it is quite exciting that Obama has won for the Dems. Though I like Hillary and I think she would be a great president, there are just too many Hillary Haters out there and she is just too much of a lightning rod for me. I would prefer to see an Obama Edwards ticket or an Edwards Obama ticket, either way works for me. Apparently ABC has decided to cull the herd further for us, since we Americans can't think for ourselves and need the media to tell us who we should listen to. As if they have done such a good job telling what the current administration is up to. Huckabee seems to have come out on top much to everyones amazement. Since he had been more seriously underfunded than the other candidates. I am just not that comfortable with him. I truly believe that government and politics should stay secular. You only need to look at the middle east/iran/iraq etc etc to see where mixing religion and politics will get you. We have already had a few run-ins here in this country with politics and religion and we need to back away from that precipice. I guess he is better than Romney or Guiliani but sheeesh, if you ask me the Republican party has become a bunch of whack jobs anyway. Just the fact that we even need to argue about evolution is incredible to believe. Intelligent people actually feel evolution is wrong? It's science for crying out loud! Prove it wrong or cut the crap.

I support Obama if I had to choose right now. I think he is just what we need. A change from what we have and from business as usual. What has been happening is not working. Our continued Bush/Orwellian adventure in supply-side economics is proving to be a disaster for everyone who is not already really well-off. The problem with supply side economics if that it is dependent on those wealthy companies, corporations and individuals to actually use their tax savings and riches to provide more jobs and economic growth and thus more revenue for the government. But I haven't seen it work that way. But then I am just a frustrated socialist, what do I know?

The Prosperity Gospel is prosperous for the preacher, period.

Among those things that have made me frustrated and angry is the news of ‘ministers’ that preach the prosperity gospel. What a load of tripe. They have, rightfully, come under some scrutiny by the government. These people are sharks and prey upon the hopes and wishes of people who are poor and downtrodden. Those who desire help in gaining the earthly riches that our culture has raised up and deified. For those who may be somewhat sheltered, the prosperity gospel is that preached by Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Oral Roberts and their ilk, that God wants you to be rich and if your faith is strong enough and, here’s the key part, you donate seed money to their churches then you will be (rich). Because God wants you to be rich. This makes me really wild. Allow me, if you will, to share what I think. First I want to be really clear that I think the Bible as it is currently compiled in it’s orthodox state, is potentially flawed in promoting the Christian faith. The main reason for this is that many Christians feel that the Bible is the literal word of God. Once one believes this then there are a lot of really contradictory and even misleading statements in the Old and New testaments that cause problems. And one will swallow this without critical thought. This prosperity gospel is a result of those statements, basing much of its theology in the words of the ‘apostle’ Paul. Now Paul may have been a great Christian but he wasn’t God. If one is going to claim the literal word of God then one needs to, as a Christian anyway, limit oneself to the Four Gospels and maybe the Acts of the Apostles. If you claim to be Christian and accept Jesus’ teachings then the Sermon on the Mount spells it out. There is nothing in there where Jesus says, “I want you to be a really rich S.O.B.” In fact check this out; “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them; otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven” matt 6,1 And this one really says it all; “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal, but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matt 6, 19-21
So how do these charlatans reconcile this? I am sure that jets, big houses, limousines, etc help a great deal. If you can convince people that the Bible is literally God’s word and then further convince them that you are an intercessor for God then you can get people who are thirsting for help to believe anything. So many despots and evil people have done this that it becomes hard to believe that we would fall for it again. This is why social justice and democratic socialism (Greens?) are so important. A Capitalism based solely in greed with no balancing rules or laws result in ‘religious’ people just like this.
